In this post today, I will guide you through how to buy Shiba Inu coin in Trust Wallet from both the Android and iOS applications; step by step.
Although, you need to understand that unlike Coinbase, Crypto.com, Binance, etc., Trust Wallet does not sell cryptocurrency directly. However, it is linked to many third-party sites or providers like Simplex, Moonpay, Ramp, etc.
These third-parties serve as some kind of applications that have access to your Trust Wallet coin or crypto addresses only for the purpose of sending you coins when you buy, but they can never send or withdraw your coins.
How to buy SHIBA INU coin in Trust Wallet
Add the SHIBA INU token to your Trust Wallet
Before you can buy any coin in Trust Wallet, or for it to show in your balance, you need to have added it to your Tokens section first.
In order to add SHIBA INU coin, open your Trust Wallet app, and tap the Settings button at the top right corner. You should see a list of coins on the next page.
Type SHIBA INU in the search box, and click on the toggle button of the one you want, (ERC20 or BEP20). Note that even though they have same value and market trends, they are technically different coins! You cannot send ERC20 SHIBA INU to BEP20 SHIBA INU, or else, you will lose your funds.
ERC20 SHIBA INU coin runs on the Ethereum Blockchain, while BEP20 SHIBA INU coin runs on the Binance Smart Chain.
Proceed to Buy SHIBA INU Coin (SHIB)
Once you have added the SHIBA INU token, the next step is to proceed to actually buy the coin in your Trust Wallet.
Go to your main page, and tap on SHIBA INU (that you added). On the next page, tap on Buy SHIBA INU.
On the next page, input the amount of SHIBA INU coin you want to buy in US dollars. Keep in mind that $50 is the minimum purchase for most of the third-party providers, and it varies from coin to coin.
For example, at the time of writing this, the minimum ERC20 SHIBA INU purchase on Simplex is $50, while minimum on Moonpay is $100.
Once you have chosen your preferred third-party provider, tap on NEXT.
Proceed to Buy SHIBA INU Coin on the Trust Wallet Third-party Provider Website
Once you click on NEXT from the previous step, you will be transferred to the third-party provider’s website.
You will be asked to provide your card details, phone number and email address. You may also be asked to do some verifications.
Note that every information you are asked provide on these websites will be handled according to their privacy policies, which are not related to Trust Wallet’s.
Once you have provided your payment details, you will be charged the amount in USD or equivalent of the SHIBA INU coin purchased. The total charge includes your bank charges and other fees which may vary.
Your crypto purchase will be processed, and you will receive your coin in your Trust Wallet address, as soon as your bank approves the transaction.
Conclusion
Trust Wallet does not sell SHIBA INU coin or any other cryptocurrency directly. However, it offers direct access to some third-party providers that sell.
These providers are standalone entities, and Trust Wallet does not charge any fees.
Also, the process of buying coins from the providers differ. In view of that, I wrote step-by-step guides on how to buy any coin from Simplex, Moonpay, and Ramp in Trust Wallet.
In addition, you can only buy a coin listed on Trust Wallet in the app. Also, most new and custom tokens like Minereum BSC, MUFC token, etc. cannot be bought for now.
